At the Excel Group the physical and emotional well-being of our children and young people is at the core of what we provide in supporting them to grow, develop and have their best lives. When a young person arrives, often with a number of emotional and behavioural difficulties, we offer the best in the field care and therapeutic support. It is these values and core beliefs that are encapsulated in our Therapeutic Model that support our vision of enabling each young person to develop and maintain healthy relationships building upon the skills to manage their emotions whilst processing any previous trauma.

When a full clinical package is commissioned and the young person arrives, they enter into the 12-week assessment phase of their therapeutic care. During this time the Clinical Team will work with the young person, carers, managers, Local Authority, Education and Parents if appropriate to collectively develop an understanding of the historical factors that have led to where the young person is now. The Psychological Assessment report will include relevant Psychometric testing that will offer further information to support the development of the Clinical Formulation, this formulation will provide the therapeutic foundation in supporting each young person to develop. In addition to the Psychological Assessment there will also be the production of an individualised Therapy Plan that will detail any therapeutic work that may take place along with the treatment goals. This document will be reviewed every 6 months by the team with a full clinical overview to ensure the young person is receiving the most appropriate level of care and therapeutic support.
